    Description

Great near 200 year old ovoid redware bottle. Fantastic folk art hand painted faux-slip design appears to have be added on to the bottle some time after it was made. A great form alone, this piece could sit proudly within any redware collection. To be clear, in the 19th century, painting older utilitarian objects was quite common, though more typically outdoor scenes or florals are found. This is the first of this type I have seen that was made to appear as if the piece were slip decorated.
Size: 8" tall. Weighs about 1.4lbs
CONDITION: Expected aging and wear. Dip in lip appears to be in-making. As-is. please use photos and description to determine condition.
